Set against the vibrant, chaotic backdrop of 1980s Bombay (now Mumbai), the series follows Dale Conti (Charlie Hunnam), an Australian fugitive who reinvented himself as "Lin Ford". While the show successfully captures the sensory overload of its setting, it struggles with the transition from the internal, philosophical tone of the book to the external demands of a television thriller.
